About us
The preprocessed drought monitoring and forecasting data comes from the Regional Hydrologic Extremes Assessment System (RHEAS) hydrologic nowcast and forecast framework developed at the United States National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
The Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) supplies the RHEAS data for processing, generation and display of the drought monitoring and forecasting indices. Further work is developed by the Drought Management Team (DMT) of the Mekong River Commission Secretariat (MRCS).
This website was designed by the Centre for Water, Climate and Land (CWCL) at the University of Newcastle, Australia. CWCL also developed the methodology for processing the hydroclimatic data and preparing the maps displayed on this website.
